As of 2025, the most convenient way to reach the stunning Vava'u islands is with AirFiji, offering direct flights from Fiji to Vava'u at least twice a week. This seamless option allows you to book your entire journey through platforms like Expedia, with your local travel agent, or directly through AirFiji.
However, flight schedules may not always align perfectly. On certain days, you may find it faster to travel via Tonga’s main island, Tongatapu, and connect with Lulutai Airlines, the local carrier.

The Tongan government took over operations of the local airline during the pandemic, ensuring reliable travel within the islands. For updates and ticket bookings, visit their official website or check out their Facebook page. Note that ticketing with Lulutai may take a day, so plan accordingly.
